The very purpose of interest, prosperity and growth of human beings, Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati started and important task, the Arya Samaj was created to carry forward the same Vision.Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati named this neworganisation ‘Arya Samaj. ‘ According to Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati the man who has high values, good nature, spiritual fervor , helping others and follows the truth is the real Arya. In the Vedas, there are many places where the words “Arya” and “Dasyu”have been used.The purposed of the life of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati’swas to free human beings from the bondage of false knowledge, false thoughts and superstition and bring them to the path of Truth. Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati established Arya Samaj with the sole purpose to liberate the Society from all kinds of superstition and caste system. Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati started Arya Samaj in 1875 in Mumbai. According to Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati, a healthy society must be free from caste system. Citing an example from Manu, he stressed that a man must be recognized by his works rather than birth.  Social unity is initially important for national unity. Social unity  cannot be achieved without first getting rid of superstition and caste system prevailing in the society. Arya Samaj is the only a progressive institution which has initiated and still is the only shelter that bring loving partners and couples into marriage bond.  By the  sincere efforts of the leaders of Arya Samaj, Arya Samaj Marriage Act was passed in 1937, according to which marriage relationships can be established outside the caste and creed.  In order to make a healthy society and eliminate social evils from the society, Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati organized inter-caste marriages in Arya Samaj Temples, through which caste and creed system can be abolished from the Society.
